Youth mentoring program Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona has partnered with Savers, a thrift store chain that supports local nonprofits. You can donate clothing and household items at the Assistance League’s thrift shop in Chandler, which provides funding for their programs. The Assistance League of East Valley works to support various unmet needs in the community through programs such as Operation School Bell, which provides clothes and housing to kids and teens. Pickup available: ✓ (Only for large donations). Other thrift stores in the Valley that benefit local animals are the Halo Animal Rescue Resale Store in Cave Creek and Foothills Animal Rescue Resale Boutique in Carefree and north Scottsdale. They also collect used dog toys and other goods specifically for animals in their shelter. They accept all types of clothing but be sure to check their website if you want to donate other items. For animal lovers, the volunteer-run Arizona Humane Society thrift stores in Mesa and Cave Creek accept donated clothes and household items for resale, with profits benefitting Arizona’s most vulnerable pets.
